Time to discover Barentburg, a small Russian mining community (appr. 400 inhabitants) having a scientiﬁc research center, a meteorological observatory, the northernmost cosmic rays station and a school for only a dozen children. We will learn about the dramatic history of the place with the local enthusiastic guide during the guided tour round the settlement and visit to the Regional Museum, special for exhibitions on the Pomor culture, the Arctic ﬂora and fauna.
Remote doesn't begin to describe it. Start the Arctic adventure by snowmobiling from Longyearbyen to Colesbay in the midst of magniﬁcent mountain landscapes, to Cape Heer and further on to Barentsburg!
