Today, we finally start our acquatance with Russia. Pskov is nearly 2000 years old and is one the most beautiful Russian cities. The Pskov Kremlin, or, the Krom, includes Trinity Cathedral - the symbol of Pskov. Majestically rising on a rocky promontory, the Krom is one of the best examples of ancient Russia defensive architecture. Remarkably, it is the largest in Europe fortress. It survived more than a hundred wars and dozens of sieges, but actually, was destroyed only once - as a result of betrayal, rather than the fall of the walls.
