Lovozero is the top destination of Kola Peninsula for Aurora Borealis viewing, there are very high chances to observe it directly at the eco-lodges. The only observatory studying Northern Lights in Russia is located here, not far from our lodge. In the evening those who wish may experience Russian Banya.
Let Russian Arctic grow on you. Don't miss the chance to ski and hike nearby. The mountain range slightly resembles the letter "C," where in the center is a large lake - Seydozero. The lake is about 8 kilometers long. The name Lovozersky "tundra" here fits more than "mountains" since a significant part of the valleys and gorges is covered with forest.
The lodges service meals and rent of various winter gears (ski, snowshoes, snowmobiles,. motorized snowboard, sleigh. There is also Russian Banya. With just 4 guest rooms, this house is a pitch perfect if you travel as a family of with friends. It's isolated, secluded and covid-safe.
Consider autumn as another great season to watch the Northern Lights. These reflections on water are simply stunning! It's not very cold yet, and the days are getting darker. The shorter the day is, the higher our chances are to see this beautiful wonder of nature, Aurora Borealis. Wonderful choice for your school holidays in October and November!
