End of April - beginning of May is the unique spring time when Baikal is getting rid off the ice cover. Tubular ice crumbles like glass from any movement, and the noise of the awakening Baikal does not stop for a minute. Sunny Buryatia on the other side of the Lake welcomes you with its Buddist datsans, Old believers villages, hot mineral springs and the largest Lenin's head in the world.

Rodney, Australia: The tour was a very good introduction to the Russian subcontinent
I was a solo traveler in a small group and found it so well worth doing this way. Great experience, great country worth to explore more. Our tour leader Katya was fantastic; she was so helpful, and really made the trip fun. I bought warmer shoes but she said that in fact this winter was not cold at all. Very surprising vibrant like in winter wonderland.
