Arrival at Irkutsk (morning), meet and greet at the train station or airport. We drive to Listvyanka village at Lake Baikal shores. En route, visit the ethnographic museum of Taltsy where you will see wooden houses built in the middle of the 18th century.

Architectural-ethnographic museum "Taltsy" is a unique combination of history and culture of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. The museum is located in a picturesque place on the right bank of the Angara River on the way from Irkutsk to Lake Baikal. It is composed of more than 40 historical and architectural monuments and 8000 exhibits of great historical value.

Baikal skating imageBaikal skating

One of the highlights of winter tour to Baikal - but you better have some previous experience - is Baikal skating. The world's largest natural open air skating rink is at your disposal.

In March, there are no more severe frosts, and the weather is comfortable. In the first half of March, the air temperature during the day ranges from + 1... -9S. The ice at this time still remains very strong. Snow falls sometimes, very often there is sunny weather and then you can literally sunbath under the March rays of Siberian sun!

Maslenitsa in Taltsy imageMaslenitsa in Taltsy

Beginning of March, will enjoy Maslenitsa celebration! We will taste Siberian herbal teas and paint a famous Russian doll, matryoshka. Later today, do vodka degustation (compulsory!) in the evening when you go to Russian Banya (optional).

On days like this, everything sparkles like diamonds. Ice becomes completely transparent, like glass, and acquires a saturated, blue color. Underwater life is perfectly visible to a depth of 40 meters. You can lie on the ice and watch it as if in a giant aquarium. Feb & March are great months for outdoor activities at Lake Baikal. Enjoy ATV & buggy safaris, skating, dog sled racing and golf tournaments right on the icy surface of the lake. Spend your Siberian weekend doing skiing, skating, snowmobiling and even cycling with spiked rubber.
