Get the essential winter Siberian vibe, welcome to Irkutsk! Your driver will be waiting at the train station.

Irkutsk was founded in the middle of the XVII century. Chekov referred to it as the Paris of Siberia. The town is famous for its wooden houses and wooden lace perfectly preserved. In fact, the Irkutsk historic centre is one huge open-air museum.

Today you will take the Irkutsk guided city tour including a visit to the icebreaker “Angara” museum, one of the most unusual monuments in Siberia. It is the only surviving ship of the original icebreakers in Russia and the second oldest icebreakers in the world (1900) after Swedish ship Bore (1894).

Late evening, arrive at Listvyanka, a settlement at Lake Baikal shores. It is the deepest, oldest and largest freshwater lake on Earth. It holds almost a quarter of the world's supply of freshwater, and the water is extremely pure and clear.

Optional evening: try traditional Russian banya.
