Time to enjoy the summer countryside! On our way to Mandrogi village, we will travel by Ladoga Lake and entertain the kids with endless stories of the past: ancient Russian trade patterns from North to South, from Asia to Europe, about “bigwatermen”, and the role of Russia's oldest capital during the great wars. The incredibly beautiful traditional Russian village of Mandrogi is a place where the past meets the present.
You will walk the streets of this beautiful village, go inside old wooden houses, visit the estate of a Russian noble family. We will witness ancient Russian folk craftspeople at work: potters, birchbark goods makers, wood carvers, lace makers and painters on wood. Some of these crafts have earned the world’s recognition as absolutely unique. Your kids can prove themselves in a real smithy and make a great souvenir! And then…fairy tale time! We shall visit mysterious “Lukomorye” where the characters in all the famous Russian tales live.
Lunch will be in a local “tractir”—a tavern. Adults can get a shot of vodka in the Museum of Vodka, while kids will be having fun. Evening: the circus show!
