Church of All Saints in Yekaterinburg


The Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land is a Russian Orthodox church built on the site of the Ipatiev House, where Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, and his family, along with members of the household, were shot by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. The church commemorates the Romanov sainthood.

The Ural Mountains are regarded as the border between Europe and Asia. To the west of the Urals lies European Russia, the cradle of the Russian culture. To the east lies the vast land of Siberia. Put one foot on Europe and other on Asia and take some pictures before returning to Yekaterinburg.

It is the largest private museum collection in Russia, well known far beyond the Sverdlovsk region. The museum complex includes a multifunctional exhibition centre and an open area.


To date, the total area of the museum is 65,650 m2; area of the Exhibition Center is 7,298.5 m2. The museum's collection has about 400 military exhibits, including a large number of rare examples.


The exposition covers a significant chronological interval - from the beginning of the 18th century to the present day and includes various models of equipment of all types and branches of the Armed Forces, as well as collections of awards, uniforms and mock-ups of small arms.

Museum of stone-cutting and jewellery art history was founded in 1992. It is located at the historical centre of Yekaterinburg, in the building of a former mining drugstore, an architectural monument of early XIX century. Bowels of the earth at the Urals are rich with minerals so stone-cutting and jewellery was wide development in the region. At the museum's exposition, everybody can see the unique mineralogical exhibits emerald pieces of ore - "Zvezdar'", "New Year's", "Alexandrov's Demantoid", malachite piece of ore.


The oldest exhibits (XVIII century) were made at the Yekaterinburg Imperial lapidary factory. The unique objects made from malachite, jasper and marble are exhibited. Also, visitors can see a 1.5 -meters vase made from Kalkansk jasper.


In the "golden stockroom" visitors can observe materials and marble are exhibited on jewellery art history of the Urals region^ silver and golden objects of different styles - from Baroque and Rococo of the XVIII century - till the modernist style of the beginning of the XX century.


Modern jewellery art of the Urals is represented by the works of L. Ustiatsev, V. Hramtsov, L. Lesik, V. Vetrov, V. Ustuzhanin, N. Kuznetsova and V. Denisov. Special excursion "Fairy World of the Stones" is available for the children.
