Cinda George, USA: Discovery Russia 13 day Grand Russia Unesco Tour

We recently returned from the 13 day Grand Russia Unesco Tour. We primarily booked this trip because very few travel groups offer such a complete itinerary (including Golden Ring and Kazan//Bolgar). We were very pleased with this tour - it was intense and left very few hours of relaxation, but the amount of things we were able to see, experience and learn about were extensive. We were lucky to have an incredibly proficient guide, Yuri. His knowledge of the Golden Ring and Moscow especially was 'above the norn'. The city guides in other places were very good too. If you are serious about learning about and experiencing more than the typical Moscow/St. Petersburg tour, you should consider Discovery Russia.

Cheryl Moran, Australia: Great tour for seniors couple

My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Russia, organised by Discovery Russia. We chose to do a private tour of just under 3 weeks, which included St Petersburg, Kazan, the Golden Ring cities and Moscow.

From the time we arrived late at night in St Petersburg, everything went so smoothly. Discovery Russia didn't miss a beat. The hotels were all very centrally located and met our expectations but we especially loved the Savoy Hotel in Moscow. Every driver and tour guide was on time, cheerful and helpful. The guides were highly educated speakers of English but two guides in particular stood out (probably because we spent the most time with them) - Darya in St Petersburg and Yuriy in the Golden Ring and Moscow. Both were very knowledgeable and made the history come alive, both were able to communicate on a range of subjects, and at no time did either give the impression of following a script.

The friendly 24/7 on ground support from Kristina was of great comfort, but things were so well organised, we had no need for the assistance she offered us each day. The tour we planned with Jenny was very intensive but also took us to many different locations. We had a wonderful time, saw lots of amazing sights, found the Russians we met to be welcoming and helpful, and felt safe and supported throughout.

We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Discovery Russia very highly. Cheryl, Sydney, NSW
