Upon arrival early in the morning in Petrozavodsk, you will be transferred to your hotel to have a little rest. At noon, you will be taken to the pier of Petrozavodsk, located on the shores of Lake Onega - the second largest freshwater lake in Europe. A high-speed boat meteor will take you to Kizhi Island, where you will see one of the main architectural masterpieces of Northern Russia - a churchyard, consisting of two churches and a bell tower of the 18th-19th centuries. The Kizhi Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Russia, has been researching, preserving and popularizing the culture of the indigenous peoples of Karelia for over 40 years and now includes 83 masterpieces of wooden architecture: old chapels and houses, windmills and granaries, threshing barns and racks for drying crops…
The gem of this collection is the 22 domed Church of the Transfiguration of Our Savior, 37 meters height. The Church of the Intercession of Holy Mary and the Bell-Tower located nearby emphasize the harmony and magnificence of the main Church. After spending several hours on Kizhi Island, the meteor will take you back to Petrozavodsk.
