Terelj National Park is indeed one of Mongolia's most stunning natural landscapes, known for its breathtaking scenery and rich biodiversity. Terelj National Park is home to diverse wildlife, including brown bears, red deer, and various small mammals. Birdwatchers will find over 250 species of birds, making it a great destination for birdwatching enthusiasts. Common sightings include eagles, hawks, and various songbird.

Terelj National Park features impressive rock formations, lush valleys, and the picturesque Tuul River. The park is characterized by its striking granite cliffs and unique rock formations, such as the famous "Turtle Rock," which resembles a turtle resting on the ground.

Today you will see Turtle Rock, Temple of Aryavalokiteshvara and Aryabal Monastery. Rock Formation such as Praying Lama Rock/Old Man reading a Book we shall pass by.

The Aryabal Monastery, located within the park, is a serene place to visit. It offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and provides visitors with a chance to learn about Buddhism in Mongolia while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere.

Praying Lama Rock/Old Man Reading a Book: This intriguing rock formation is another fascinating stop along your journey. Its unique shape resembles an old man reading, adding a layer of cultural storytelling to your experience.

Mongolia is one of the few remaining countries on earth that is still home to truly nomadic people. The best way to experience this way of life first-hand is to stay overnight in a ger experience. You will get a true insight into the nomadic lifestyle that is, for the most part, as traditional as you might imagine. En-suite yurts have en-suite facilities. Typically, a ger hosts 4 people, however, we keep it as classic double/twin sharing with single accommodation available, please refer to the tour calculator or consult Discovery Russia travel expert to learn more.
