Dating to the 8th century BC, Samarkand is famous for its ancient craftwork traditions. In Samarkand, we’ll start our city tour with a visit to the Guri-Emir Mausoleum. Then relax and watch a traditional folk dance show in beautiful Registan Square, the cultural and historical heart of Samarkand. After lunch, we head to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Built by Timur in the 15th century, it’s one of the most magnificent mosques in Islam. From there, walk to Siab bazaar, a produce market famous for local delicacies like dried fruits, sweets, specialty bread and nuts.
