After breakfast, transfer to lake port to board a hover boat, special boat for winter sailing across Onega Lake, one of the largest out of nearly 60 000 lakes in Karelia. There is no other way to reach remote and isolated Kizhi Island, UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Russian cultural heritage in winter.

The collection of the Open-Air “Kizhi” Museum includes 83 monuments of wooden architecture: old chapels and houses, windmills and granaries, threshing barns and racks for drying crops…The gem of this collection is the 22 domed Church of the Transfiguration of Our Savior, 37 meters height. The Church of the Intercession of Holy Mary and the Bell-Tower located nearby emphasize the harmony and magnificence of the main Church.

Return to the city, for lunch and optional city tour. Then, return to the forest lodge. Please note that if the ice is unstable (and it is weather dependent), hover boats will only be able to cruise from remote tiny port, located 4,5 hours drive from the lodge and the cruising distance will be 20 minutes (one way) only. In this case we will offer you additional transfer to the port and back or other activities for the day.
