Founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts a real kaleidoscope of architectural styles. A morning walking tour of the Old Town of Riga features its most famous architectural monuments: the 13th-century St. Peter Church, St. George Church, St. John Church, the 14th-century Riga Castle, Big and Small Guild houses, medieval dwelling houses Three Brothers, and the Dome Square with its famous Dome Cathedral boasting one of the biggest organs in Europe.
