Here in Datsan you will meet the Lama, Renchen, who has been commissioned to start the reconstruction of the Buddhist Monastery, destroyed during Soviet times. Lunch with traditional Buryat food (salad, soup, pozy (Buryat steamed meat dumplings), dessert, and drinks, including traditional vodka.

Head to Karakol Valley by famous Chuysky Tract highway, ancient road connecting Russian to Mongolia. This is the most scenic road in Russia, and National Geographic granted it the 5th place in the list of "most scenic roads of the planet". In winter, especially before New Year, Tomsk turns into a classic Russian provincial fairy tale. The first university of Siberia was founded here. Tatar street is the entire quarter of old wooden houses. That were Tatar people who approached Tsar Boris Godunov to protect them against the brutal Siberian tribes – it is when the history of Tomsk began. There are catacombs under the quarter.
