Another day to explore Russia's capital with our guide. Novodevichiy (New-maiden) Convent was founded in 1524 to celebrate the victory over Lithuania. The oldest building is the white Cathedral, with 16th-century frescoes. Novodevichy is the functioning monastery, please respect and be dressed accordingly. This is the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Tour continues as we drive to the Sparrow Hills for the best views in the city, where you will also see the highest of Stalin's skyscrapers: the Moscow State University.

You also have the opportunity to visit the adjoining Novodevichy cemetery, the final resting place of many Russian icons from the worlds of art, science and politics – including Boris Yeltsin, Nikita Khrushchev, Molotov, Stanislavski and Chekhov. The cemetery is beautifully located next to the lake said to have been the inspiration behind Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet.

The VDNKh (“Vystavka Dostizheniy Narodnogo Khozyaystva”—the “All-Russia Exhibition Centre”) complex was built to be an exhibition centre of the entire USSR. Today it is a remarkable place to visit with lots of museums, amazing buildings, the modern art exhibition centre and the unique Museum of Cosmonautics, which we will explore.

The museum possesses a unique collection of the history of Space exploration, archive documents, and items belonging to the first cosmonauts. It tells us an outstanding story of humanity's bravery and courage. Besides, the world's largest open-air skating rink is here, at VDNKh.
